For transit passengers with anywhere from seven to 24-hour layovers, the Tourism Bureau is now offering FREE half-day Taipei tours.  Locker services are available at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport for passengers to store luggage.  More information is available here: http://eng.taiwan.net.tw/tour/index.htm.

Burger King Cologne

What could be better to attract your next flame than smelling like a broiled Whopper?

Although the Burger King cologne is currently being offered in Japan, this seemed way too hot a topic to let sizzle out.  Aren't Japanese people who wear "Flame Grilled" cologne (US $40.00) fearful of being hounded by hungry mutts?  Or what about, "Honey, you really need to spend less time at Burger King!" But it's my new "spicy" cologne!  I just picked it up this evening to get that desired "grilled beef-burger smell." Let's not give the NFL any gift ideas for tailgating parties...

2014 FIFA World Cup

Looking to watch the World Cup on Taiwan?  Aside from the hip local pub, the 2014 FIFA World Cup matches should be broadcast on ELTA TV, according to a recent article. You could also try www.Hinet.net or use the company's "Hami" app to view games on smartphones or tablets. Tropical Storm Talim (泰利) Slams Taiwan

The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) is slated to issue a sea warning against Tropical Storm Talim (泰利) at 5:30 a.m., and may issue a land warning later in the day, making it likely to be the first storm to hit Taiwan this year and bring heavy rainfall expected across the island, CWB officials said last night.
